Complete pane of 100, original gum, grill impressions which match the block offered in lot 245, showing partial erasures with light but clear points between the C grills, previously folded in half horizontally not affecting any of the grill impressions, couple small edge splits along the fold, couple small spots of gum

VERY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED FULL PANE OF 100 OF THE C GRILL ESSAY, SHOWING INCOMPLETE ERASURE OF THE ORIGINAL A GRILL. A WONDERFUL 1867-68 GRILL ESSAY RARITY.

Accompanied by original folder which held the folded sheet. Ex Earl of Crawford and Belmont (Siegel Sale 581). Scott Retail as singles of the perforated 79-E15g, which does not remotely do justice to this rare complete pane (Image)
