Green circular datestamp with matching "10" rate handstamp on folded printed circular to Raleigh N.C., three-page document titled "Correspondence on the proposed Southern Convention" with letter from the Florida Delegation to Congress addressed to Governor Thomas Brown, with printed signatures of D. L. Yulee, Jackson Morton and E.C. Cabell, letter contains strong statements about the North seeking to undermine the Southern "social structure" (slavery) and urges support of the Nashville Convention to organize Southern opposition to the Compromise of 1850, followed by Gov. 2015 c The Hunt-Metcalf Correspondence. Over 100 covers relating to the Metcalf and Hunt families of Providence R.I., the Metcalf family owned the Providence Journal and textile factories and was instrumental in founding the Rhode Island School of Design, the Hunt family was a prominent jewelry manufacturer, starts with stampless period and continues to the Bank Note period, including nice group of contents with typed transcripts, mostly 3c rate, one or two with corner cards, some faults, an interesting window onto a period of correspondence from these famous families, the correspondence was the subject of an article in Sep. 2017 American Philatelist
