1525° og ImageEGYPT, The Partial Reconstruction of the 1868 1c-40c Suez Canal Formed by Jean Boulad. Total of 215 stamps beautifully mounted on hand-made pages by the famous Jean Boulad - the renowned collector of Suez Canal stamps, each stamp positioned and mounted in place, 1c with 28 stamps (Ty. 1 - 7, Ty. 2 - 8, Ty. 3 - 6, Ty. 4 - 7), 5c with 45 stamps (Ty. 1 - 10, Ty. 2 - 13, Ty. 3 - 11, Ty. 4 - 11), 20c near complete reconstruction and missing just 10 of the 120 positions, 40c with 32 stamps (Ty. 1 - 6, Ty. 2 - 8, Ty. 3 - 9, Ty. 4 - 9), mixed between original gum and no gum, most examples with four margins, small faults to be expected, also incl. three precursor covers incl. one from Zagazig carried privately to Suez Canal Company agent in Alexandria and two covers to France that went overland, one from India and the other from Reunion

FINE-VERY FINE. A REMARKABLE OFFERING OF SUEZ CANAL STAMPS ON ORIGINAL HAND-MADE ALBUM PAGES BY JEAN BOULAD.

The Suez Canal stamps were issued on July 8, 1868 and were withdrawn from sale by Aug. 16, demonetized on Aug. 31. Each were printed in sheets of 120. There are four distinct types of the 1c, 5c and 40c which were identified by Boulad. The quantities printed varied - 1c was 1,220, 5c was 31,232, 20c was 105,644 and 40c was 10,863.
