Apr. 24" (1862) circular datestamp on buff cover to New Orleans, the city was occupied by Union forces beginning April 25 so the cover was diverted to Jackson Miss. and forwarded to Canton Miss. with a 5c Light Blue, De La Rue (6), tied by "Jackson Miss. May 17" circular datestamp, 5c Green with some staining, cover missing backflap and with corner mend, Fine and scarce use, ex Gimelson (Image)
