4479° nhbl ImagePAPUA, 1907, 2p Violet, Double Overprint (21a; SG 40a). Mint N.H. block of four with guide cross in the bottom selvage, positions 22-23/27-28, position 27 showing plate variety "unshaded leaves", lovely rich colors, a couple very trivial toned specks on gum mentioned only for strict accuracy

VERY FINE. A SPECTACULAR BLOCK OF FOUR OF PAPUA 1907 2-PENCE WITH DOUBLE OVERPRINT.

Only one sheet of 30 was found with the double overprint. It was largely unknown until 2003 and was first listed in the 2004 edition of the Stanley Gibbons catalogue. Few (if any) other blocks exist.

Only two sheets were printed with the double overprint and most of those were used.
