VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN AFFORDABLE EXAMPLE OF THE "ABNORMAL" 6-PENCE BUFF PLATE 13. A MAJOR GREAT BRITAIN RARITY OF WHICH APPROXIMATELY 30 EXAMPLES ARE KNOWN.
This stamp was accidentally released for sale when a few imprimatur sheets in Buff were perforated and mixed with normal inventory. The actual intended stamp was the issued 6p Gray (62; SG 146-147). It is believed around 30 examples exist of which all are used and many are plagued by a myriad of faults.
