2466 c ImagePensacola Fla. Oct. 4 (1861). Well-struck circular datestamp on red and blue 11-Star Confederate Flag Patriotic cover (F11-5) to Mobile Ala., large woodcut "Paid 5" handstamp, manuscript "Continentals" over flag, with original enclosure containing same waving flag design and datelined "Camp Continental, Pensacola Sep. 9th, 1861", slightly reduced and with small tear at bottom, enclosure with some scotch tape reinforcing along folds

VERY FINE. A CHOICE AND RARE PATRIOTIC USE FROM FLORIDA. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE MATCHING ENCLOSURE.

The letter contains an interesting report that General Beauregard has taken Washington D.C.
