Mitchell in Missouri City Mo., 3c Rose (65) tied by target cancel, "New Orleans La. Apr. 29, '65" double-circle datestamp, endorsed "William W. Bratton, 3rd Mo. Infty" at left, stamp faulty, otherwise Fine, a rare prisoner's letter from Ship Island, only two are recorded in the Harrison book, the prison was mostly used as a temporary facility and was closed in June 1865 (Image)
