1901 Pan-American Issue: Issued Stamps
Lot Sym. Lot Description
81 og Image1c-10c Pan-American, Vignette Shifts (294-299 var). 20 unused stamps, generally lightly hinged, a couple with h.r. and one 8c no gum, neatly mounted and annotated on an exhibit page, four of each except two of 5c and 8c, each stamp showing a pronounced vignette shift, creating "fast, high, low and slow" varieties, or for the boats "fast, floating, sinking and slow" varieties, each selected by Dr. Heimburger for the high degree of shift -- he did not settle for any "almost" shifts

VERY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING GROUP OF THE ONE-CENT TO 10-CENT PAN-AMERICAN ISSUE SHOWING DRAMATIC VIGNETTE SHIFTS.

The 1c and 2c Pan-Americans are relatively well-known with vignette shifts. However, collectors of this issue know that the higher values are extremely difficult to locate with shifts as dramatic as these. (Image)
