4024° E Image2c Small Numeral, Die Essay on India (113-E3a). Five, showing incomplete shading around "United States", each die sunk on card from 97 x 108mm to 64 x 76mm, each shows full die sinkage, different colors including Green, Yellow, Red Orange, Scarlet and Dull Brown, few tiny scattered toned spots

VERY FINE AND RARE GROUP OF THE 1869 2-CENT SMALL NUMERAL ESSAYS, ALL FULLY DIE SUNK.

Since this group appeared in our 1999 Finkelburg sale, we have offered only two other examples, both cut down below the die sinkage area.

Three, including Brown, Dark Brown and Orange, first with disturbed original gum, others original gum, last slightly oxidized, Fine, Scott lists this in Brown, Dark Brown and Yellow, we believe the last to be a mistake (it should be Orange) so this is complete for all colors, each with 1990 or 1996 P.F. certificate (Image)
