Philatelic Literature
Lot Sym. Lot Description
3894   The Stamped Envelopes, Wrappers and Sheets of the United States by John K. Tiffany, Handwritten Drafts. Two folders containing handwritten drafts of what apparently became the Tiffany Stamped Envelope book, one of the drafts with similar or verbatim passages and containing drawn flap and knife diagrams as well as cuts of reproductions/facsimiles of some of the designs, the writing appears to be in the hand of John K. Tiffany but some may have been written by other contributors to the book (R.R. Bogert and Joseph Rechert collaborated on the book), folders with some faults but the manuscripts are in very nice condition, accompanied by a copy of the 1892 book which resulted, Very Fine and fascinating early literature items, these come from the massive Atkins collection of philatelic literature, much of which was donated to the APRL
