Vaughan P.M." on back by the Norfolk postmaster, blue "Norfolk Va. Oct. 2, 1861" double-circle datestamp on homemade cover to Mobile Ala., restored at top including expertly painting in the upper arc and small portion of letters in "Paid" handstamp, couple other minor cosmetic improvements, Very Fine appearance and extremely rare, unlisted in the Crown survey, this may well be the only known example of the 10c Norfolk Postmaster's Provisional (the 5c is also rare, with five or fewer recorded), with 1987 P.F. certificate picturing the cover before restoration (Image) $ 1,500.00
