VERY FINE AND CHOICE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $5,000.00 SERIES 1958 ISSUE. ONLY THREE ARE KNOWN CANCELLED SOLELY BY A HANDSTAMP.

As an indication of this issue's rarity, none was offered in the William S. Floyd sale. Previous census work has stated only nine are known in total, but we were able to locate twelve using our extensive digital library. Nine of the others have either perf or cut cancels. The example offered here, in sound condition and with just the handstamped cancel, is a true condition rarity.

Ex Buford and "Scarsdale". With 2002 P.F. certificate. (Image)
