EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS IS THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE RARE $500.00 "SERIES 1940" OVERPRINT ISSUE WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. A PHENOMENAL STAMP.

A Power Search review found six others, including three with either cut or punched cancels, two with manuscript and one with both manuscript and handstamp cancels (margin trimmed). This is the only example located with Power Search cancelled solely by a handstamp. A review of other major name sales also failed to find any others cancelled solely by a handstamp.
