VERY FINE. ASIDE FROM THE THREE COPIES ON A PART DOCUMENT, THIS IS ONE OF ONLY FOUR SOUND EXAMPLES OF THE 5-CENT THIRD ISSUE WITH INVERTED CENTER. ONLY 21 EXAMPLES ARE KNOWN IN TOTAL.
In his privately published census, Larry Lyons records twenty examples of the 5c Third Issue with inverted center. Of these, three are on a part document. Of the seventeen off-document copies, thirteen have faults of varying degrees, the most common being creases (nine). The centering on the example offered here is better than most.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $1.00 THIRD ISSUE REVENUE WITH INVERTED CENTER. THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST RECORDED EXAMPLES. ONE OF THE GREAT REVENUE RARITIES.
In his privately published census, Larry Lyons records a total of 26 copies (one is known outside the census). Of these, five are on one document and one is on another, leaving 21 copies not on documents. Of these 21, virtually all have faults and most have poor centering.
