EXTREMELY FINE GEM. ONE OF ONLY THREE UNUSED STAMPS AMONG FIVE RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THIS PERFORATION VARIETY RARITY.
Our census of Scott 516a, available at http://www.siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/516a/516a.pdf , contains only three unused and two used stamps, making this one of the rarest denominations with the Perf 10 at Top or Bottom variety. Of the three unused stamps, this and the ex "Sirron" example from our Sale 1001 are confirmed as Mint N.H. The other unused example, the bottom stamp in a vertical pair with a normal stamp, needs to be checked for confirmation on its gum condition.
