Robey, discoverer of the sheet of 100 of the 1918 24c Inverted Jenny, each addressed to famed stamp dealer Elliott Perry, dated January 13, 28 and February 6, 1918, dealing with requests for stamps from Perry and written only a few months before the Inverted Jenny stamps were found, also a fourth letter, dated February 28, 1944 from Harry Jeffreys to Perry acknowledging receipt of an Air Mail Invert that Perry purchased in the February 24 Edson Fifield Col. Green sale (Perry's initial letter reporting the purchase present as an unsigned copy), Jeffrey's letter also mentions the "splendid" vote of Kentucky Senator (Alben) Barkley to override a veto (by President Roosevelt), stating "the danger of dictatorship is being realized", a fascinating group (Image)

Parcel Post Nov. 16 1918" double-circle datestamp and matching Insured boxed handstamp on wrapper to Base Hospital, Camp Lee Va., during the global influenza pandemic, Very Fine and extremely rare use, after the reduction of the Air Mail rate from 24c to 16c per ounce, the bicolor Jenny stamp had little opportunity to correctly prepay a rate on cover, this wrapper is correctly prepaid with 31c in postage for a seven pound parcel to a Zone 4 destination (300-600 miles), plus 3c insurance for declared value to $5.00 and 2c War Tax, this is the only surface rate use of the 24c Jenny on a wrapper we have encountered (Image)
