Four singles of Italy 1906-19 5c Green (94; Sassone 81), tied by "Posta Militare 73, 15.8.18" double-circle datestamps on cover to Port Said, well-struck "Commando Tappa Italiana, Porto-Said" double-circle cachet, cover was returned to E.E.F. with address crossed out and replaced with "EEF" in red crayon, two British "Army Post Office, SZ22" circular datestamps dated Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 and Port Said arrival backstamps, struck with "58 Regg. Artiglieria Camp, 7 Batteria" purple handstamp on reverse, Very Fine, an incredibly rare Italian military cachet and the only example we can find used within World War I, Peter Smith in Egypt: Stamps and Postal History on page 614 indicates very few Italian troops were in Egypt for transit and were tied to the E.E.F. in the Palestine Campaign mentioning he only has seen one example from April 1919, signed Sorani (Image)
