Lot Sym. Lot Description
906   ImageCanada, 1851, 3c Beaver Plaque. Bronze like plaque in bas-relief measuring 185 x 160mm and mounted on wood backing, depicting Canada's first postage stamp, the 3-pence Beaver, quite detailed, this is believed to have been hung in the Ottawa home of Sir Sanford Fleming, who designed the 3p Beaver stamp, accompanied by a 1915 250 x 190mm photograph of Fleming at a dinner table (while Chancellor of Queen's University), which is thought to be the last known photograph of him, plus a multicolored drawing of the building he owned where his first business was located, few of these plaques exist today (Image)
