collection in four binders, first two contain covers and telegrams, second two telegrams only, more than 130 covers in first two volumes from 1850's-60's, designs as listed in ASCC on pp. 139-142, including five of the elaborately illustrated shield
and telegraph machine in black, (ASCC No. 285, rarity 7, one faulty), color and albino embossed, printed, etc., a good number entered the mails with 3c 1851-57 Issues or 1861 Issue, the telegram volumes include ten with 3c Telegraph Part Perforated
(R19b), the final volume with all Civil War period telegrams, some faulty covers to be found (incl. with 1c and 2c 1861 issue stamp), but overall Fine and fascinating collection, American Telegraph was formed in 1856 through the consolidation of
