A large collection of the Specimen stamps that were offered in the 1990 Christie's auction of the American Bank Note Co. archives, comprising 163 items containing 464 stamps, including singles and blocks up to 14 stamps each, several imprint blocks, neatly arranged with all of the different print order numbers within each stamp, overall Fine-Very Fine, this and the following lot of booklet panes are probably the most comprehensive collection of Canal Zone ABNC Specimen stamps ever offered since the 1990 auction (Image)

1071 S ImageImportant Collection of American Bank Note Company Canal Zone Booklet and Booklet Pane Specimens. Comprising 2c Orange & Black Ty. I booklet pane of six with punch hole but no Specimen, the same in complete booklets of two and four panes (latter with small cover tear), 1c Green & Black Ty. IV two booklet panes with gutter between and a complete booklet of six panes, 2c Ty. IV booklet pane with large punch hole and two blocks of twelve (two booklet panes with gutter between) with Specimen and small punch (these two different order numbers), two similar blocks of 2c Ty. II (different order numbers) and a 1c Ty. II pane, another 2c Ty. 4 block of two panes, plus a complete booklet of two panes, 1c and 2c Ty. V each in a block of two panes with gutter, 1921 Issue 1c and 2c each in block of two panes with gutter and unfolded cover, 1924 Issue 1c and 2c in blocks of three booklet panes of six (these were not issued in booklet form), Fine-Very Fine, this and the previous lot probably represent the most comprehensive Canal Zone ABNC Specimen collection available, three A.P.S. certificates accompany (Image)
