VERY FINE. A SPECTACULAR SHOWPIECE CONTAINING THREE OF THE TEN KNOWN EXAMPLES OF SCOTT NO. 20d, AS WELL AS THE UNIQUE ANTIQUE "CANAL" VARIETY.

Only the sixth column of one sheet produced a double surcharge. This block has three of the ten errors, including the unique example with Antique "Canal".

1069   1904-06, 1c-10c Overprints, 1c on 20c, 2c on 1p, 8c on 50c Surcharges -- Important Study Collection of Third Issue Map Series (9-20). A fantastic lifetime study collection formed by Mr. Gibbs, comprising a few hundred stamps and covers, comprehensive representation of all issues, extensive showing of 8c on 50c surcharges (except, of course, the rare No. 15), stamps feature numerous varieties (both Scott-listed and unlisted), including antique fonts, spacing varieties, shifted overprints, broken letters and many more, a large number of blocks, all carefully annotated with position numbers and typographic variety, in addition to the marvelous holding of off-cover stamps there are 79 covers or cards, including 14 with the 8c on 50c surcharge, many registered covers with Cristobal labels, majority Fine-Very Fine (some gum disturbance as always, a fact noted in Scott Catalogue), this wonderful collection would augment a serious specialist's holding or form the nucleus of a new collection or exhibit, the total Scott value is in the thousands, and the premium for unlisted varieties and multiples is substantial, our estimate will prove to be very conservative
