863   France Railroad Cancel Specialized Collection. Many hundreds neatly mounted and annotated in four volumes, a few from the experimental 1848-55 period, most are stamps cancelled with initials in diamond grid showing the route taken (e.g. "P AM" for Paris-Amiens), the collector tried to obtain as many different stamps with each cancel, most are off cover singles, but there are some multiples and several covers, generally the 5c-40c values, but we did notice some 80c and one 5fr, one other item of note is an 1884 cover with Mondane-Paris railroad marking that originated in Mauritius (17c on 4c stamp tied by "B53"), the cancels are clear and generally Very Fine, would make a solid basis for someone looking for an affordable yet challenging area for exhibition
