420 c ImageCAYMAN ISLANDS, 1908 Postmistress Manuscript Provisionals, Gwendolyn Parsons (SG MP1). Manuscript "(Postage Paid, G.A.P.)" in red at top right, "George Town, Grand Cayman MY 18 08" circular datestamp beside, on cover to Kingston, Jamaica, Kingston arrival backstamp, cover with minor stains and scuffs mostly away from manuscript marking and datestamp

FINE. AN INCREDIBLY RARE AND EARLY USE OF THE POSTMISTRESS MANUSCRIPT PROVISIONAL. BELIEVED TO BE ONE OF ONLY SIX OR SO KNOWN TO EXIST.

During May and June of 1908, supplies of the -1/2p and 1p stamps were exhausted. Payment of postage was indicated by the postmaster signing these covers from May 12 to June 1.
