517 Sbl Image1c Agriculture, Specimen Ovpt. and "Sepcimen" Error (OS1, O1Sa). Block of 90, comprising the full sheet less the top row, the error in Position 21 (left stamp in second row of this block), without gum as issued, selvage at left, imprint and plate no. 65 at bottom, natural s.e. at right, bright color, outstanding centering nearly throughout, a few lightly toned perfs including at the bottom of the error stamp, slight soiling bottom left stamp, some minor reinforced perf separations at edges

FINE-VERY FINE. THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE ONE-CENT AGRICULTURE SPECIAL PRINTING ON HARD PAPER WITH THE "SEPCIMEN" ERROR IN POSITION 21.

All nine denominations of the Agriculture Issue were printed from plates of 100 subjects. 10,000 of the 1c Special Printing were sold from the 1st Printing. Multiples from the 1st Printing showing the "Sepcimen" error are very rare. This is believed to be the largest extant. The Lewenthal collection contained a complete sheet of 100 on ribbed paper from the 2nd Printing without the "Sepcimen" error.

Ex Senator Ernest R. Ackerman (noted in Combs booklet, page 16). Scott Retail $9,572.50 as blocks of four and singles, without regard to the imprint and plate number (Image)

522 S Image15c Agriculture, "Sepcimen" Error (O7Sa). Without gum as issued, deep rich color, attractive margins which are wide and balanced on three sides and well clear of the perfs at top

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT AGRICULTURE "SEPCIMEN" ERROR. ONLY TWO OR THREE ARE KNOWN.

Robert Markovits recorded only two examples of the 15c Agriculture "Sepcimen" error (2004 Bennett sale), but it is not clear if his census included this stamp. Only 370 of the 15c Agriculture Special Printing were sold, but it is not known how the stamps were taken from the sheets or if full sheets were exhausted before breaking a subsequent sheet. The ex-Lewenthal and Markovits copy, last sold in a Siegel sale in 2005, is scissors-separated into the perfs at top. The stamp offered here is far superior in quality. (Image)

523 S Image24c Agriculture, "Sepcimen" Error (O8Sa). Without gum as issued, brilliant color, choice margins and centering, exceptionally fresh

VERY FINE. THIS IS THE FINEST OF ONLY THREE RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THE 24-CENT AGRICULTURE "SEPCIMEN" ERROR.

Robert Markovits recorded only three examples of the 24c Agriculture "Sepcimen" error (2004 Bennett sale). Only 352 copies of the 24c Agriculture Special Printing were sold, but it is not known how the stamps were taken from the sheets or if full sheets were exhausted before breaking a subsequent sheet. The ex-Markovits copy, last sold in a Siegel sale in 2005, is faulty and scissors-separated into the perfs at top. The ex-Sheriff copy (Siegel Sale 752, lot 484) is not as well-centered as the example offered here. (Image)
