A review using Power Search shows just how rare this issue is as a Mint N.H. multiple in any size. We have sold only a single Mint N.H. block of four of E2 since 1993 and in all our Rarities sales since 1964. The existence of this large multiple is truly surprising.

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A SPECTACULAR MINT NEVER-HINGED CORNER-MARGIN IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER STRIP OF FIVE OF THE 10-CENT 1894 SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE.

Like the 1890's Bureau Issue plate strips offered earlier in the sale, this piece comes from an old-time collection and was most likely acquired by the previous owner through purchases at post offices in the 1890's and early 1900's. As such it has been kept out of the light since 1898 and has never before appeared at auction.
