EXTREMELY FINE. AN IMPORTANT RARITY OF FRENCH COLONIES, AS ONLY FOUR EXAMPLES WERE PRODUCED.

This is actually one of the rarest stamps in the entire Markowitz collection. Only four stamps were surcharged with the Type "f" overprint. All four still exist today (three unused, one used). There is only one Ivory Coast Parcel Post stamp that is rarer, that being the 1fr on 10c Type "h" surcharge (Scott Q20), of which just one copy is known.
