An exceptional franking consisting of four One Centavos singles, a horizontal strip of four and a single diagonally bisected, all used on an orange colored registered cover to Medellin, each stamp with small manuscript Tamesis” originating town cancels, stamps combined to pay single letter rate of 5 centavos, plus 2.50 centavos for registration (registration reference not noted on cover but manuscript Received” confirms usage), cover opened slightly irregularly at bottom, Fine, not only is this one of less than five covers reported with a One Centavo bisect, this is also the largest multiple franking known bearing this stamp (Image)

2517 Pbl ImageCOLOMBIA, Antioquia, 1896, 2c-5p Eagle Coat of Arms Issue, Imperforate Proofs on White Wove Paper (97P/116P). Blocks of four (all but one marginal), 18 values in all, each in the issued colors except the two 5p high values are in unissued colors (Blue and Black, Lilac Brown and Black), all wonderfully well margined, bright and fresh, a couple of lower denomination blocks with minor stray printer's ink marks, Very Fine, an exceedingly handsome and scarce set of proofs, only 200 of the centavos values were printed, while only 50 of the Peso values were produced, as blocks these are the largest recorded multiples, Scans of the entire collection (1.0mb) can be found at http://www.siegelauctions.com/2014/1086/pdf/2517.pdf (Image)
