2498 Ebl ImageCOLOMBIA, Antioquia, 1889-1890, 5c Black on Vermilion Bogota Eagle Coat of Arms Imperforate Essay. Block of four, an essay similar in design to the final issued stamps, but likely produced around 1886 by the printer Ayala in an effort to obtain the contract to print the new definitive issue after the Sovereign State of Antioquia changed in 1886 to the Department of Antioquia, interestingly there is publicity design printing on the reverse of the block which incorporates the Ayala imprint, Very Fine, according to the accompanying 2010 Bortfeldt certificate there are only a few examples of this essay known and this is the only multiple the expert has seen (Image)
