FINE. A VERY RARE AND BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF THE TYPE I PERFORATED 3-CENT 1857 ISSUE.

The distinctive characteristic of Type I -- complete outer framelines -- is often difficult to see on a single copy due to the narrow spacing on the plate. The framelines are easily seen on this block.
