FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE USED EXAMPLE OF THE $4.00 GREEN HORSE & RIDER FIRST ISSUE. PERHAPS A HALF-DOZEN EXIST IN USED CONDITION.

The $4.00 Green was used briefly during Rate Period 3 to pay the double $2.00 per half-ounce rate. Only one cover is recorded (FKW Census No. E105), and we have seen four or five genuinely cancelled stamps off cover.

With 2013 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail at $1,250.00 fails to account for the sale of another used copy at $6,000 hammer in 2009 and the resale of the same stamp in 2013 for $13,000 hammer (Image)
