2959   France 19th Century Collection. Primarily used stamps neatly arranged in an album, not only the basic stamps, but also shades, plate varieties, cancels, multiples (incl. a strip of four of 1849 1fr), higher value stamps well represented, such as ten of the 5fr Napoleon, a few unused stamps, several covers incl. impressive uses to foreign destinations, two tete-beche pairs (1853-60 80c and 1862 20c), condition is a little mixed as expected, but overall appearance is Fine-Very Fine, would make an excellent basis of which to form a specialized used 19th Century France collection, For complete scans (15.1mb) of this lot, go to http://www.siegelauctions.com/2014/1070/PDF/2959.pdf

To the 1960s in three stockbooks, early issues mainly used and incl. some duplication, with higher cataloging stamps such as 1849 15c Green (three), 1849 1Fr Carmine (five singles and a pair), 1853 1Fr Lake (two) and 1869 5Fr Napoleon (three), a folded letter franked by 1849 1Fr and three 10c, plus there is some unused in this period, as well as Reprints, the 20th Century is mostly unused, with better sets from the period, incl. Commemorative, Definitives, Semi-Postals complete incl. an extra used copy of the 1917 5FR+5Fr, Air Post incl. two examples of the first set and both 1936 50Fr stamps, all the early souvenir sheets incl. five copies of the PEXIP sheet, a few booklet panes, also Postage Dues, Newspaper Stamps, Alsace-Lorraine, Offices in Turkey, General French Colonies stamps incl. 1859 10c Pair, one Sideways, and some better cancellations, also a few proofs and other material, condition is somewhat mixed, though overall better than what is often encountered, the early stamps mostly with four margins, Fine-Very Fine appearance
