VERY FINE. A PRISTINE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE STAMP.
In 1841 it was decided to change the color of the One Penny stamp from black to red, to prevent cleaning and re-use. The very first One Penny Red stamps were printed from the plates used for the One Penny Black stamp while the Black stamps were still being used. Shortly after, new plates for the One Penny Red stamp were made.
With 1999 Brandon certificate for the block of four from which this came. SG value as hinged (Image)
