2172 og 1894-95 Bureau Issues, "The First 100 Plate Numbers". Collection of plate number singles on pages, includes all of the denominations of the Regular Issue to $5.00 ($1.00 Ty. I), plus No. E5, Postage Dues with 2c Vermilion and next series 1c-50c and 1c-5c Last Design Newspapers, plates 14, 36, 61, 65-69, 86 and 87 were not used or finished, plates 37-43, 81 and 83 were for Newspaper values and are not included which is understandable as just the normal stamps are so difficult to find, plates 15, 16, 21 and 55 are imprint and plate no. strips of three, apparently all original gum, centering varies but flaws are few and far between, fascinating study from the "infancy" of the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing, this sensational collection should be remounted for exhibition purposes E. $ 1,000-1,500

Well over 100 stamps, virtually all original gum except nearly all dollar values either regummed or h.r., some others Mint N.H., additionally includes No. 266-267 horizontal Ty. II/III combination pair and 10c No. 273 Imperforate Pair, essentially completely free of ugly off-center stamps, nearly all Fine-Very Fine with quite a few better, sharp-eyed viewers should have no trouble recognizing over 20 really premium stamps scattered throughout this lot
