Reg.) and datelined "In the Field Near Jonesboro Septr 4th 1864", regarding sending home "My Boy Andrew" who has the measles (presumably Maj. Wilson's slave), with handwritten pass, letter also mentions military situation, small piece missing from bottom left corner of address leaf but not noticeable, still Very Fine, a very unusual field cover from one Confederate officer to another authorizing passage of a slave (Image)
