Two covers with strikes in red, matching large City of Toronto U.C. double-circle datestamps on folded letters to London and New York City respectively, London cover with red "Ship Letter Deal" backstamp and due rate, New York letter with minor fold split, Very Fine and scarce examples of this Toronto straightline representing the prepaid 25c U.S. over-400 miles rate to New York plus 9d Canadian -- which includes the extra 2d ferriage fee -- the ferriage fee was abandoned Feb. 22, 1837, at which time the "Paid 7 & 25" handstamp was introduced (Image)
