2c Brown (113). Mint N.H. horizontal block of
eight, post office fresh color and paper, nice margins and centering, bottom right stamp small diagonal crease at top right, a few minor perf separations at right FINE-VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED BLOCK OF EIGHT OF THE 2-CENT
1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE. As a Power Search review shows, blocks of eight or larger of the 2c 1869 Pictorial are scarce in any original-gum condition. Large blocks containing all Mint N.H. stamps are extremely rare. We have offered a number of
larger multiples in recent years, but nearly all had at least a scattering of hinged stamps breaking up possible large contiguous pieces with Mint N.H. gum. The Gordon Eubanks collection contained a block of 12 with the bottom two rows of eight
stamps in Mint N.H condition. This is one of the largest blocks containing contiguous Mint N.H. stamps we have offered since keeping computerized records. With 2013 P.F. certificate (Image) Search for comparables at SiegelAuctions.com |

we find no reference to this cancel on a 3c 1869 Pictorial (Image) Search for comparables at SiegelAuctions.com |
