Rich colors, tied by bold circle of wedges, red "New York Jul. 1?" circular datestamp on large part of cover addressed to Benjamin Disraeli in London, England, red 1870 London transit, stamp with small closed tear at bottom left, cover with some light wrinkling

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A VERY RARE USE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE TO PAY QUINTUPLE 6-CENT RATE TO BENJAMIN DISRAELI IN ENGLAND.

This cover was carried on the Guion Nevada, and the 30c stamp paid 5-times the 6c rate. Only one full cover to England is recorded, but that was used in 1882, well outside of the contemporary period of use.
