FINE-VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE USED BLOCK OF NINE OF THE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.
Three blocks of nine are known, as are three blocks of twelve and irregular blocks of eleven and ten. The largest recorded unused multiple is a block of six.

FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE UNUSED MULTIPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.
The Rose 1869 book records six unused blocks of the 90c, including two in the Hirzel collection at the Swiss PTT Museum. The largest unused multiple is a block of six (two known). This is the first unused pair we have offered since keeping computerized records, which includes all of our Rarities sales and auctions going back to the early 1990's.

FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTRAORDINARY USED STRIP. THE SECOND LARGEST USED MULTIPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1869 ISSUE AND THE ONLY UNIT OF SIX AVAILABLE TO COLLECTORS.
The largest used multiple of the 90c 1869, according to the Rose book, is a strip of seven stamps. This is the next largest used unit. The used block of six is permanently part of the Hirzel collection at the Swiss Postal Museum. After this strip of six, there are six used blocks of four, one of which is also in the Swiss Postal Museum.
