1360 c Image10c Black (2). Three large margins, just in at top, tied by three strikes of red grid cancel, matching "Eastport Me. Jun. 27" circular datestamp on folded letter datelined "Lime Island, 23 June 185?" and addressed to Henry Caleff in St. Paul, Minnesota Territory, vertical tear thru half of stamp, still Fine, an extremely rare and unusual use, this is one of only two recorded covers to Minnesota Territory, this cover's origin as specified in the dateline is unique as far as we can determine, Lime Island is a small island in the Penobscott River which is part of Isleboro, Eastport is approximately 150 miles away so this most likely was carried privately via boat to the mails in Eastport, the addressee, Henry Caleff, was one of Minnesota's early settlers (he came from New Brunswick) (Image)
