3075   Image3c Brownish Carmine, Ty. IV (26A). Prefect centering with margins which easily allow the type characteristics to be identified, spectacular color contrasted by neat strike of blue town datestamp cancel, fresh paper with long and full perforations all around

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1857 TYPE IV IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE. THIS BEAUTIFUL STAMP HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.

The ready availability of 3c 1851-57 stamps fools collectors into the false sense that superb examples, even of a better type, are easily obtainable. Yet with grading well into its 10th year, this is the sole example of a 3c Type IV stamp to achieve Superb 98 grade. Combining centering with rich color, freshness and a blue cancel, this stamp is truly one-in-a-million.
