2345 c Image5c Brown (1). Large margins, rich color, tied by manuscript cancel, matching "Oxford Ct. Feb. 28" manuscript postmark and "5" on buff cover to Philadelphia, Very Fine, this is the only reported use of the 1847 Issue from Oxford Conn., which did not receive a supply, the town is about 12 miles from Waterbury, with 2003 P.F. certificate (Image)

March 27" manuscript postmark on cover to North Fairhaven Mass., small repair on top flap extending to top edge, Fine, Olive Grove did not receive a supply of either denomination of the 1847 Issue, thirteen 10c covers are known, all from the Swift correspondence, it is interesting that the postmaster used a grid cancel, but did not have a town postmarking device (Image)

June 14" circular datestamp with date in manuscript on green 1851 folded letter to Baltimore, sender's instructions "P.M. please forward immediately", cover with stain removed and sealed tear at top, still Fine, scarce, this is the only reported use of the 1847 Issue from Bethany, which did not receive a supply of stamps, it is only 25 miles from Cincinnati, which received a large supply, this cover was sent just two weeks prior to demonetization, with 1999 P.F. certificate (Image)

Sep. 6" circular datestamp on 1847 folded letter to New York, manuscript "Paid/Ch. 89" at upper left, light vertical file folds well away from stamp, some soiling, otherwise Fine, the sender, Rev. M. L. Wood, added instructions to charge his account, by this time the Brunswick post office had received a supply of stamps and so the postmaster affixed one and charged the box for the postage, illustrated and discussed in an article in Chronicle 218 (copy accompanies), ex Krug, signed Ashbrook, with 1998 P.F. certificate (Image)
