Pair showing misaligned entries, full to huge margins, gorgeous bright color approaching Orange Brown, bold manuscript "X" cancel, tiny scissors-cut between stamps at bottom, right stamp with pressed-out vertical crease, Very Fine appearance, with 1996 P.F. certificate, the subject of misaligned entries was addressed by Wade Saadi in the August 2010 Chronicle, he surmises that the reason only five U.S. stamps prior to 1870 had framelines is because the siderographer had difficulty aligning the entries and, therefore, designs with ornamental frames produced a better appearance, Scott Retail as singles (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE GEM PAIR OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE SHOWING MISALIGNMENT OF THE ENTRIES. RARE AS A VERTICAL PAIR AND ONE OF THE FINEST EXTANT.
