Two stamps, both Position 52R9, the Type V "Big Double Transfer", showing significant doubling along the value tablet at bottom, first original gum, second blue grid cancel, light toning on second mostly confined to back, Fine examples of the largest double transfer among all the Type V plates and one of the best examples among all of the 1c 1851-57 types (see Neinken p. 424 for a discussion of the relief setting error that caused the double transfer), this is only the second used example we have offered since keeping computerized records, it is much rarer than the Scott Retail value indicates (Image)
