Mar. 22" (1862) double-line circular datestamp on red Jefferson Davis Medallion and Verse Patriotic cover to St. Helena Parish La., top flap reattached and tiny repairs at top, Very Fine appearance, the sender of the cover, Samuel. P. Hutchinson, was a private in the 4th Louisiana Infantry and was writing from camp two weeks prior to the Battle of Shiloh, in which his regiment participated, he was killed at Baton Rouge in Aug. 1862 (Image)
