1994 E 109 var. imageCanada, 1923, 3¢ King George V "Admiral", Trial Print of a reversed design (Scott 109 var.), horizontal pair in deep blue, ungummed, Very Fine, not the more common red color usually seen.

These prints were produced by German printers, Herbst & Illig, to demonstrate their new "rotary intaglio" printing process for the American Bank Note Co. As they claimed that their process was much cheaper than steel engraving ABNCo commissioned samples and these were the results.
