286 1b image1847, 5¢ orange brown (Scott 1b), handsome four-margined example on cover to Aurora, N.Y., with blue grid cancel and matching adjacent "Skaneateles, N.Y., Feb. 24" c.d.s., Very Fine appearance, only 7 examples of this cover are known from Skaneateles in the Alexander census, ex-Kapiloff, with 2018 P.F. certificate states "manuscript cancel removed (its actually visible) stamp with tiny internal tear, the cover with staining removed" overall harsh and much nicer than the certificate indicates.
