98   imageCanadian Provinces: Newfoundland, 1930 (Oct. 10), First Flight cover, Harbour Grace to London, multicolor franking (including 36¢ Trail of the Caribou) sent "per Air Mail 'Columbia'"; St. John's Sept. 25 c.d.s. on front, with Harbour Grace OC 9 30 cancel on reverse; London 13 OC 30 receiver on front; cover forwarded to Norfolk; stiffener attached to inner lining of envelope; a few nicks along the top, and a spot of sticky residue on back, but still Very Fine, an exquisite example of this Boyd-Connor flight cover, only 50 of which were flown without the special stamp, signed Bolaffi, with his 1979 certificate.

99   imageCanadian Provinces: Nova Scotia, 1922, "First Air Mail Halifax To St. John's January 1922", violet boxed handstamp and manuscript endorsement "By Aerial Mail" on a mourning cover addressed to St. Johns, franked with 34¢ in Admirals tied by illegible c.d.s.'s and backstamped Halifax, Jan 20, 1922; reduced a tad at right in opening, otherwise Very Fine. Accompanied by uncorroborated information from an anonymous source stating that the aircraft was wrecked and that the mail was forwarded by steamer. The postmark is said to be that of Kentville, N.S. A most interesting cover.
