Truby on reverse; tip of flap has small red Chinese chop, plus a small stain either from the chop or from previous mounting, nevertheless a Very Fine cover, one of only 70 carried by de Pinedo on his Rome-Tokyo flight.

650 18 imageChina, 1929 (July 13), Canton - Shanghai Rignot & Arrachart Flight (Starr-Mills 18), striking cover, with three Junks (two cancelled Canton, one with Shanghai receiver cancel), large red "Vol Paris-Tokyo/Rignot-Arrachart/Section: Canton-Shanghai/Poste Aérienne Spéciale" cachet, along with black boxed chop and apparent signature (Chinese) in pencil, Very Fine, 300 covers with the special cachet were carried.
