Scott $11,000.
Estimate $7,500 - 10,000

THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS ERROR.

The sole existing example of this major error, it was caused by a foldover of the lower right corner of the sheet during the overprinting process (there is a diagonal crease across the unoverprinted stamp). In fact, the obliterating bars and legend are printed on the gummed side of the sheet (the "9¢" would have printed beyond the edge of the paper).

This shift exists on only 30 stamps with just 10 "gap" pairs.
J.S.C.A. A19.
Estimate $150 - 200

This error was caused by a slight jam of the paper as it went through the press, causing a light crease and bend affecting the third and fourth stamps. See the next three lots for four more of the only 10 gap pairs in existence.
